My wife and I went to St. John last month for 8 nights. We stayed at Harmony, part of the Maho scene. We loved the water, snorkeling, breathing the fresh air, and the staff at Maho. We hated the amount of bug bites we got. We tried every preventitve item known to man, however the no-seeums still had their way with us. I still think that was a small price to pay to enjoy all that is St. John. We Snorkeled almost every beach you could get to and found some better than others but for the most part, I dare you to find a bad beach on this amazing Island! For the first five days we traveled by shuttle and after the winding road to Maho really did'nt have a desire to drive. We gave in to the heat spell (90-95 degrees) and rented a 4 wheel drive for the last few days. Within 10 minutes of driving with the air conditioner on we wished we had taken the car right off the ferry. Also the driving became fun. The roads are mostly curves and severe switchbacks, be carefull and you will enjoy the ride. I've gone on too far with this post, I get lost just thinking about our trip. If anyone has questions or just wants to talk about St. John, feel free to right back. Howard
