: Hi
: My name is Alan and I have been trying to find the
: lowest cost available for transporation into St. John
: from the states. Air fares seem extradionarily high
: and cruise ships not to practical. Any ideas? I am
: told there is a "ferry" that runs weekends only from
: Puerto Rico to St. John. Can anyone verify that or
: offer transport suggestions for those on a budget.
: Thanks for the chance to post
Alan:
I found that it was cheaper to fly to San Juan then on to St. Thomas rather than directly to St. Thomas. Continental had the cheapest flights to San Juan and you can find a coupon for anywhere from $50-$100 off in some kids videos. Check at your local video store. I found one from a rental box off the shelf--free! I got my tickets from Chicago to San Juan for $348 per person. You can then get a small commuter flight to St. Thomas. Caribair was the cheapest for $141. I have never heard of the ferry from San Juan to St. John. Please email me if you know more about it. If you fly into St. Thomas, you then have to take the ferry to St. John. All in all, I got my tickets for $499 per person and have not found anything cheaper. American flies directly to St. Thomas for $688. Please email me if you have any more questions or information I might be interested in. Thanks.
