In R.cgiy to: Caneel has my vote. posted by Nancy on March 07, 19100 at 01:18:44:
We are staying at BeauSoleil Villa in November. It looks absolutely beautiful to me, and since my husband and I like seclusion we thought Coral Bay sounded right. We were also told by rental agent that the villa is right off the paved road and yes, it would take about 25 minutes to drive to Cruz Bay. The North Shore Beaches and Salt Pond look very close to Coral Bay and there seems to be pretty many restaurants in the Coral Bay area so that if we didn't feel like driving to Cruz Bay we wouldn't have to. Also I think (and was told) this villa has a stunning view. But I guess we will just have to wait and see. The only problem we are having is that November is way too far away.
Happy Honeymoon!
: Since you will be staying in a villa the second week, it would be nice to stay at Caneel and "chill" for the first week enjoying the various Caneel Resort beaches and amenities. There are various daysails to the BVIs or various snorkeling locations that are available from the resort and you will have access to all sorts of water "toys" at no additional cost.
: You could forgo a car for the first week and leave your island e.cgioring for the second week. By all accounts, the Westin Resort, although beautifully manicured, does not compare with Caneel. My vote is stay at Caneel.
: With regard to Beausoleil villa, it looks like a nice villa, but the Coral Bay area is not my choice and the villa appears to be located pretty inland with a distant view of the water. However, St. John is a small island and with a rental car, you should be able to easily get to wherever you want to go.
: Also, since you are staying 2 weeks and will have "chilled out" for the first week, the little extra driving should not be a problem.
: Have Fun--You will love St. John.
